Dick’s Blog

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for being so wonderful to work with! The staff at Choice Music Events has taken care of all our needs. Because I teach middle school, the festivals we attend are local and very inexpensive for our kids compared to some of the incredible trips that high schools take. It would be easy for a company to put us on the back burner, but I have never felt like “small potatoes” with Choice Music Events. My orchestra has always been taken care of like we were spending tens of thousands of dollars.
As a middle school orchestra director, it is hard to find reputable festivals that provide the things I am looking for: a great performance experience and knowledgeable adjudicators. Choice Music Events provides both. My middle school orchestras have had the opportunity to perform on world class stages: the Meyerson Symphony Center and the Murchison Center for the Performing Arts. The excitement my kids feel when they play in those venues is an incredible recruiting tool, and is a big part of our high retention rate. Performing at your festival every spring is always at the top of my students’ “favorite things about orchestra” list, and the parents cannot believe that their child is up on that stage. There are no other festivals that I have found that can provide that kind of experience. The adjudicators hired by Choice Music Events are knowledgeable and provide an excellent learning experience for my students with their positive and constructive feedback.
Since we attend local festivals, we do not attend the awards banquet that is held. Last year, my orchestra had a great experience and was awarded the Overall Outstanding Orchestra. The chairman of the festival took time out of his schedule and gave my kids a special impromptu awards ceremony outside by our busses where he announced our success and gave my students the trophies. That special treatment is why I will never use another festival company. I would highly recommend Choice Music Events to any director of any program of any size: band, orchestra, or choir with absolutely no hesitation.”

— Ms. Michelle Gauthier, Director of the Ted Polk Middle School Orchestra

This Festival company was started and is still run by music educators that know first hand the needs and inner workings of music groups.”

— Mr. David Stephenson, Director of the Spring Branch Middle School Band

We have used Choice Music Events for several years now and I have found that each year, the service and standards get better and better. There is no better 1 stop music festival company!”

— Mr. Larry Schnitzer, Director of the Naaman Forest High School Band

One of the traditions of many music programs across the nation is the annual Spring festival. There are many positive reasons to plan a spring festival. Personally, I enjoy the experience because it is an opportunity to make music in a less stressful environment than our state contest. In addition, it is an opportunity to gain constructive comments from other experts in choral music.
In the past 28 years, I have attended every major festival in Texas and many across the nation. Each festival has their specialty, but I have been most impressed with Choice Music Events.
I have attended Choice Music Events for over ten years while at McCullough High School, The Woodlands High School, and this year at Georgetown High School. I became acquainted with the festival through a close friend, Bill Cormack.
Choice Music Events provides flexible, friendly assistance. They truly care about the quality of your experience with them. They openly solicit suggestions on how they can improve their product. I feel I am a part of the family with the Choice Music Events staff – not just a customer. The performance venues and the adjudication are a top priority. I have been very impressed with the performance halls and the educators who have adjudicated my groups at Choice Music Events. The awards presented are of the highest quality. I highly recommend Choice Music Events. They are extremely professional and represent the very best in festivals for music groups.”

— Mr. Mike Ware, Director of the Georgetown High School Choir

I wanted to say thank you for the great and positive experiences you have provided for my band program. For the last five years, and hopefully many more years to come, we have been fortunate to work with your wonderful organization. Your fantastic staff is what sets you apart from all the rest! Everyone is very professional, courteous, and calm. The attention to details has been unbelievable!!
When I sign up with Choice Music Events, I know that my band will be in good hands.”

— Mr. Reece Nagai, Director of the George Junior High Band
